Our Goal is to support International, National and local charities that encourage and enable individuals to become self-sufficient and productive members of society.
Team Members: Edith Racine, Cheryl Snyder (Pastor), Tracy Webb, John Logan, Gil Nagle, and Linda Ayres (Chairperson)
Meeting Schedule: The 3rd Wednesday of each month, 3:30PM in the church’s Community Hall.
Activities: Over the many years this team has supported Samaritan’s Purse on a yearly basis. When disasters occur both international and domestic, we send funds through the Global Methodist Church to assist with getting individuals and families back on their feet.
Locally, we support the elementary school in our neighborhood and organizations that assist the homeless in the County. Church members donate magazines, calendars, holiday cards and puzzles to the auxiliary of Union Hospital for distribution to the “Good as New” Resale shop, Union Hospital’s Gift Shop, the Infusion Center, and Cancer Treatment areas. On the church property there is a “Prayer Box” for anyone in need of a prayer.
This year, we added a new organization “Canines Assisting Service Heroes” (C.A.S.H.) that trains service dogs for veterans. We are very proud to have found this organization because all funds are used to support the training and medical needs of the dogs. The individuals working with C.A.S.H. are all volunteers, so there are no overhead expenses taken from donations.
